Tree Plantation Drive 2018

Tree Planation is one of most ambitious initiatives of the Government of Maharashtra. With respect to this initiative Maharashtra Government had launched a massive drive to increase the green cover across the state. As a part of the initiative, the Maharashtra Government decided to plant around 13 crore trees across the state.

Forest department, social forestry, forest development corporation of Maharashtra will be playing pivotal role in this massive tree plantation to be taken up from July 1-July 31 with an active co-operation of various government departments, co-operative, societies, civil bodies, educational institutions, industry, voluntary organizations, civil society, non-government organizations and citizens.

From the past 24 years our ashram has been doing good work for the Adivasi’s of Palghar District. As a token of respect the Ashram has been given the task of planting its trees in the vicinity. Mango trees, Cashew tree, lime trees, Jack fruit tree, coconut trees had been planted. The saplings were planted by Mr. Ajay Mehra the chairman of the Ashram, and were followed by the staff, the patients , labors and all the people present in the Ashram. The plantation drive was a huge success and the students of the Ashram have been given the task of taking care of saplings till they bloom.
